If you're new to home education, or just curious, there are opportunities for you too. All are welcome. This event will be Friday, June 13th at Calvary Baptist Church (just off 295) at 4040 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32218 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. We will have great, local speakers and a curriculum swap station. More from us soon!

The Home Education Foundation has been the parents' voice in the Florida Capitol for more than 40 years, keeping a full-time lobbyist in Tallahassee to watch over what's happening in Florida legislation and to protect your freedoms related to parent-directed education in Florida. Our founder, Brenda Dickinson, was instrumental in getting home education legalized in Florida in 1985, and has been protecting it ever since. In recent years, Jason Crawford also came on board to work alongside Brenda and to take over the work as Brenda approaches retirement. In addition to our lobbying work, we also have a 501c3 Non Profit Organization, HEF Connect, that emerged out of the original work of the Home Education Foundation. Through this 501c3, we create community, share accurate information, advocate for parents and students, and connect opportunities to promote parent-directed educational freedom, including non-traditional learning opportunities for post-K-12.

Home Education Resources & Information (H.E.R.I.) exists to encourage and empower homeschooling families across Northeast Florida to succeed in their educational endeavors. A local, volunteer group of home educators who encourage each other in the educational choice that is best for our families. We seek to promote relationships within the home education community by providing resources, information, and seminars. We maintain a curriculum library where members may borrow curriculum for the school year or simply peruse materials on hand. Annually, HERI offers group standardized testing administered by Florida certified teachers. Many use this to fulfill their annual evaluation requirement. HERI’s formal Graduation Ceremony is a wonderful way for homeschool high school seniors to celebrate their accomplishments. Our annual BookBuster, held every summer, is a favorite event to buy and sell used curriculum. HERI offers its members an opportunity for their 9th-12th graders to be a part of the Omega Mu Chapter of ESA National Homeschool Honor Society. We also enjoy helping many beginning homeschoolers get off to a good start by providing consultation, offering connections, and assisting with their individual needs. Park days & Field trips when Members initiate . MEMBERSHIP is $40 per Family: Membership year runs from August 1 – July 31.
