Our Mission: Mandarin Christian Homeschoolers (MCH) seeks to support and encourage homeschooled children and their families educationally and spiritually as we work to build families that glorify and honor God. We strive to be an example of Christian living in our community of Jacksonville, Florida. Our mission statement comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another, and build each other up."
Our Purpose: Mandarin Christian Homeschoolers exists to provide fellowship to families both within and outside of the church community who have chosen to home educate. We accomplish this through park days, field trips, social events, and service projects. MCH also sponsors a Friday co-op of parent-led classes with separate and limited membership.
MCH Co-op is a sub-group of Mandarin Christian Homeschoolers. Our co-op is limited to 200 children and generally caps at about 80 families. We have children of all ages, from babies to high schoolers. We often have an open house in the spring toward the end of our co-op year. Applications for MCH co-op are accepted during a short two-week window in the spring. We generally have more applicants than we can accommodate.
Classes are mostly elective in nature and parent-taught. Parents must either teach or assist in the classroom for one of our two hours of programming.
Our classes are grouped into 5 categories (preschool, primary, elementary, middle, and high school), with each category (except preschool) offering 2-5 different class choices each hour. The classes we offer vary from year to year and depend entirely on what parents want to teach.
Program Information
Location: Mandarin area of Jacksonville
Times: Friday mornings for 12 weeks in the spring and 12 weeks in the fall for 2 hours of classes each week.

There is also a fee for most classes. The fee, per class, can range from $10 to $50 or more depending on the class.

We are an academic-based, Christian co-op, kindergarten to 12th grade in Jacksonville, Florida. We offer nursery and preschool for our participating families. Each mom co-teaches a class and serves on a committee. We also have events and field trips throughout the year as a time to explore and fellowship with one another.
Our co-op is defined as an academic co-op for the whole family, offering writing, science, and history for grades 3rd- high school, and unit studies for kindergarten through 2nd grade. By offering Science, History, and optional writing, we are able to help guide the parents through these studies. Since the allotted amount of time in class will never be enough to teach all the information, you as a mom are still the primary teacher and the expectations for your children to learn and understand a particular subject is your responsibility at home

PEP is a ministry that elevates and expands the quality of education parents can provide for their teenagers. The final years at home are crucial to adequately prepare students to excel in life. Equipping a teen to live life well requires much more than merely dispensing a "required class". PEP differs from home school co-ops, online classes, and formal schools in the following ways:
Scholarly Discipline
PEP is committed to training students in logical thinking and biblical reasoning based on a strong body of knowledge and truth. We help students develop a strong work ethic using caring Christian tutors that are subject matter experts, as a foundation for college, work, and life.
Commitment to Two-Day Class Offering only
Since the home is to be the primary place of discipleship and development of the mind and manners of children, the majority of the student's coursework should be overseen by the parents as a home school. PEP is not a five-day program.
